The Future is Purple!

 

Pantone’s new announcement for 2018 Color of the Year may be more than just a gorgeous gemstone shade.

"It’s truly a reflection of what’s needed in our world today," Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, told The New York Times.

 

"It’s also the most complex of all colors because it takes two shades that are seemingly diametrically opposed — blue and red — and brings them together to create something new," added Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone's executive director.

We’re extremely excited for this new and cool shade. Not only because of it’s amazing uplifting message of unity, but also because of its wearability and translation across a number of industries outside of beauty and fashion.

 

 

Though our direct rendering of Ultra Violet won’t be released until late Summer 2018, we have a number of shades in our current collection to fulfill those Pantone needs.
